Editorial Policy

Texas AI Law is an independent publication about Texas artificial intelligence law and the Texas and federal law that governs records, evidence, privilege, privacy, trade secrets, contracts, employment, and consumer claims when AI is used. It is published by Jason Blackstone, a Dallas attorney, who is responsible for its content. These standards describe how the content is researched, verified, and kept current.

Primary sources first

Guides, insights, and tracker records are grounded in the controlling legal authorities: the Texas statutes themselves, enacted legislation, agency rules and guidance, and court and enforcement filings. Statutory citations, effective dates, procedural posture, and docket status are verified against the official source before publication. Secondary commentary, press releases, and third-party summaries are never the sole basis for a statement about what the law requires.

Independence

Content selection and analysis are independent. Texas AI Law does not accept paid guest posts, sponsored articles, or compensation for coverage.

Keeping current

Tracker records are updated as regulators and courts act. Guides and insights are re-checked against current law on a rolling basis, with priority after each Texas legislative session. Every article shows its publication date and the date it was last reviewed.

Reporting errors

Reported errors are investigated against the primary source, and substantive errors are fixed in the text. To report one, use the contact address on the About page.
